About imoves

Meet our founder - Imogen Buxton-Pickles

Dance and fitness have always been Imogen's passion. Her professional credentials include a Sports and Exercise Science BSc (Hons), YMCA FIT Tutor, and a Teaching Level 5 OCR. She holds numerous YMCA FIT Qualifications, including Full Personal Trainer Award and Exercise to Music Award, and is a Certified UK presenter for the New York City Ballet Workout. She also has International Dance Teachers’ Association certifications in modern jazz dance.

Early in her career, Imogen worked one-to-one with UK teachers, helping them deliver better dance and PE lessons to kids aged 4-11. She focused on coaching and supporting teachers to give them the skills and confidence to teach dance themselves.

To reach more teachers, Imogen created imoves Primary Dance in April 2010, putting her teachings online. A full PE programme followed, along with popular Active Schools resources. Now, educators worldwide have instant access to everything needed for engaging and fun PE and Active Learning classes, allowing them to teach confidently without being experts.

What do teachers say about imoves?

"The children have all loved it! Their favourites so far have been the dances. They all ask if we can repeat them. They were particularly engaged in last week's activities and getting to the final week, they are excited by the journey. It's really well thought out for whoever is leading and great clear instructions to accompany the activities."

Louisa Cruickshank, Horningsham, (one of the first schools to deliver the imoves Active Adventure Club)
